How I Plan a Month of Content in One Afternoon (and Actually Sleep at Night)

Content planning doesn’t have to be chaotic — or a 3-day marathon with 15 open tabs. I’ve built a system that lets me plan 30 days of content in a single afternoon, and it’s saved me from countless late-night scrambles.

Step 1: Pick 3 Core Themes

Every brand needs consistency. I choose three themes that reflect the business:

  • Educational (tips, how-tos, industry insights)

  • Behind-the-scenes (culture, team, workflow)

  • Community/Customer focus (testimonials, spotlights, UGC)

Step 2: Map Themes to Weeks

I spread the themes across the month. For example:

  • Mondays = tips

  • Wednesdays = BTS

  • Fridays = community

This creates rhythm while still leaving space for spontaneous content.

Step 3: Use Templates

I keep 6 caption skeletons (question, story, listicle, tip, call-to-action, quote) and 12 design templates ready in Canva. That way I’m not reinventing the wheel each time.

Step 4: Batch and Schedule

I batch-write captions, then design visuals, then schedule everything in one sitting. Buffer days are built in for trending moments.

👉 The result? A calendar that feels structured but flexible — and yes, I actually get to close my laptop before midnight.
